Lake Lure Retreat

Our clients will be making new memories for years to come in their newly redesigned, and newly built Lake Lure Mountain Cottage when construction is complete in 2023. After years of owning the home and enjoying the beautiful lake views and direct lake front access, it was time for a refresh. Our clients wanted the features of modern homes, but also to take advantage of advances in building technology allowing for greater spans, more expansive views, and an indoor-outdoor connection that wasn’t possible 70 years ago when their cottage was first built.

We wanted to design the home to be situated to maximize the tranquil views of the lake. So, after tearing down the existing cottage, a new poured concrete foundation was laid directly into the hillside. This would allow for a reverse floor plan with the main living areas on the top (ground floor) level and the downstairs would be for the private living quarters, as well as a game room, and lounge.
