Looking to create a more relaxed pace for their life, the homeowners elected to downsize from their home in town and move to their old beloved family lake cabin full time. Although the site captures fantastic views of Lake Lure and the mountains near Chimney Rock, the cabin itself offered limited outdoor space and a tiny kitchen with no views to the lake. Between daily life and many summer guests, improving the kitchen and adding outdoor living was critical. Having worked with ACM Design on renovations to their home in town, the homeowners naturally teamed with them again for this special project. Now the quaint cabin has taken on a new life with a modern rustic kitchen boasting expansive views to the lake. The rustic charm extends to new screen room which offers outdoor living at its finest . . . even during cooler months with a warm fire burning brightly in the stone fireplace. A timber arbor frames the new front door which welcomes guests and provides a quiet transition between the old and the new.
