Biltmore Forest Renovation
This 1950’s ranch style home in a beautiful established neighborhood needed updating to meet the needs of a growing family. The zoning requirements for the property did not allow the opportunity to add “out”, so the only option was to add “up.” The carriage house concept was accomplished by adding a second floor to the detached garage and connecting the carriage house with the main house with an enclosed breezeway. The carriage house provided a two car garage space, mud room and storage room on the ground level with a garden room, family room, office and guest suite on the upper level. The existing main home and the new carriage house blend seamlessly with the simple step of unifying the structures by painting the exteriors a clean crisp color palette and installing matching roof shingles.
